ABOUT

The Turkey Run Analytical Chemistry Conference is an annual, student-organized conference with participants from Purdue University, Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Over its 53-year history, the conference has fostered scientific development of graduate students from this collection of research-focused institutions. In recent years, the conference has had over 150 participants and it has included 80 poster presentations and 6 oral presentations (including a high profile keynote speaker). Student participants range from first-year graduate students to those preparing to defend their theses, and in recent years senior undergraduate students have attended as well.  In 2023, the keynote speaker will be Dr. Christy Landes from Rice University.

The meeting is important to graduate students both academically and professionally in the field of analytical chemistry. Individual research accomplishments and setbacks are presented and discussed, and additional ideas from unbiased observers are commonly proposed. In addition to contributing to the research progress of graduate students, the conference provides a location where graduate students can meet and interact with some of the top analytical chemistry professors in the world.

The responsibility of organizing the conference rotates yearly between the four schools. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is responsible for planning the 2023 conference. 2018 Group Photo
